READING: Making It Happen!!
Every two weeks on minimum days (Fridays) students have the opportunity to have a free dress day. It is very simple:
1. Students have two weeks to complete the reading, and take the quizzes no later than Wednesday prior to the free dress day.
2. If the student’s reading level is lower than 4.5 on AR (Accelerated Reader), he/she has to read 3 books, pass the quizzes with 100%.
3. If the student’s reading level is higher than 4.9, then he/she has to read only 1, pass the quiz with 100%.
4. Once students pass the quizzes, they can obtain a wristband from the library, and wear it on the designated date.
5. Quizzes can only be taken during school hours at the library every morning from 7:45 to 8:10, during lunchtime, and afterschool from 3:15 to 4:30 every day except Fridays. Students can also ask their teachers if they can use the computers in the classrooms.

This tutorial is designed so that you can learn how to use the tools of web 2.0 for your classes or for fun.. Tuesdays and Thursdays before and after school @yourlibrary.
• AR Reading Club
Everyday before school, during lunch time and after school. Computers are available for you to take quizzes, and check out books. Make sure you take the reading quiz within the next 48 hours after you finish reading the book.
• Oct. – March CYRM reading contest begins.
Check out the books at the library. There are three categories: middle & high school, and intermediate. Click on CYRM or see Mrs. Hernandez@ the library for more information.
• Celebrate Friendship through a Reading Club. Choose an exciting book and share it with your friends and/or meet new friends.
